I stood at the back of crowd attempting to get glimpse of either Ray or Elliot. Neither were in the big group of students, all of who were making me uncomfortable. But before I was able to turn I saw the girl on the motorcycle trip and start to fall. I didn’t think before I jumped in to save her from falling. Every pair of eyes turned to me and stared coldly. Every single one of their instincts had told them to hate me even though I was a great guy. But there I stood holding the new girl and being hated even more then usual.
She pushed away from me awkwardly as if she was ashamed of being helped. Or maybe it was just her common law instinct to back away even though I probably was less harmless then a fly. She muttered an almost silent “thanks” but I caught it. She brushed her pants off hastily before she finally looked at me. The moment I saw her eyes I gasped along with every other student. Her eyes shined in the dim morning light and gave off colors I didn’t think every existed. They were a rainbow of colors, so dazzling. It was an explosion hue, so amazing that I can barely describe what I am seeing. I didn’t even notice that her expression had gone from anger to embarrass while everyone stared.
“Damn it, I knew this would happen,” She muttered angrily. So her emotions were not very stable, at the drop of the hat she would go from one to another. Good thought to keep in mind.
She angrily pushed past every last one of us and ran full speed towards the school. Well, this school can surely have their moment. I listened for her foot steps as she stopped on the inside of the door. Her muted cries spread to my ears and I almost felt myself crying. Ugh, what was this girl doing to me? I barely even knew her and already she was mesmerizing the only creature that could do that to others.
I was going to go after her when someone grabbed my shoulder. His grip was strong and he wheeled me around with an ease.
“Hey Cotey! Where ya’ going? I’ve been looking for you an Elliot all morning,” Ray released my arm and patted down my crumpled shirt.
“I was…I was… Wait, you haven’t seen Elliot all morning. Damn, that kid is going to get us killed one of these days,” I muttered into the butt of my palm.
“You don’t think he’ll?” Ray used his hands to show the sign language symbol for bird, “Fly?”
He didn’t even need me to answer before we darted for the school. My feet glided over the ground with immense speed and Ray stayed right by my side. We were almost moving to fast to make it seem un-normal and it just happens that we passed by the girl from before. I couldn’t help but take a single glance at her, which almost sent me sailing into a group of students.
Within another instance we were up three flights of stairs and bursting through the emergency exit to the roof. It was bare except for pipes for ventilation and rocks that covered every surface. I peered up into the sky hoping to get glimpse of something that I could hear coming. About a second later, black feathers gleamed through the thin clouds of the sky. The feathers hung in the sky before they appeared out of the clouds with a body attached. Elliot dive bombed down to the roof of the building and landed with grace. He is such a good guy and what most people would call an angel, but what’s really funny is that he is actually an angel. But not one of the pure-blooded brats up in the sky he is a full bred fallen angel that came straight from the skies.
"Elliot! You idiot! What do you think you're doing?!?" I roared with all my might. I must have sounded like a lion with that roar; I might as well because I was ready to tear apart Elliot.
“Wow, Cotey I seriously have never heard you get so angry. Raymond, you owe me 20 bucks,” Elliot smiled with gleaming white teeth.
“Ah damn. I forgot about that… If I remembered the bet I would have told Cotey you were in the bathroom,” Ray mumbled while he pulled out an old beat up wallet.
“Ray! Don’t encourage him, he’s just lucky right now that I’m not kicking his ass,” I said through my teeth. I could feel the anger surge through me like a shiver that went down a human’s back. But, when I got angry I did not just get goose bumps I got fangs.
“Damn, Cotey, no need to go all vamp on us. I promise not to do it again,” Elliot crossed his fingers “Anyways what was with all the commotion in the parking lot. I could hear the whole uproar from about a mile away,” He muttered in attempt to change the subject. He knew just as much as I did that when I got angry I did not need to be taunted. Within a minute my teeth retracted into human form.

The first bell clattered loudly as we all made it down the hallway. Ray and Elliot led off into one of the rooms; they were in the same homeroom which left me by myself. It did not bother me all that much because I was use to feeling lonely. I had only been lucky enough to find Ray and Elliot, who happened to be two of the most popular guys at school. I wandered down the corridor and entered the door at the end.
The class literally stopped mid-sentence to stare at me once more. The intense stares continued as I took my seat in the back. Yet again I was use to this kind of treatment. I was not really a hated guy it was just an instinct to stay away. However, there were a few in the class that were not repulsed by me but to fit in they acted the same as the others. I could always tell by the look in their eyes or the depression they went into when they saw my sad glares. At that point my day seemed to be one of the worst and I could only hope for it to get better.
